Kid Lit Fest

On Saturday, April 25, starting at 9:00 a.m., we invite you and your little ones to immerse yourselves in the magic of storytelling and creativity at Kids Lit Fest 2026. This event, in partnership with KC Book Beat, is included with Wonderscope admission or membership and promises to be an unforgettable experience for local families. 

Kid Lit Fest is a celebration of early literacy and a wonderful opportunity to connect with local authors and illustrators. Spend the day meeting your favorite authors, discovering new books, and engaging in hands-on activities to spark your child’s imagination and love of reading. 

Research underscores the importance of early exposure to speech and language in shaping children’s future learning. By talking, singing, and reading with your child, you are helping them develop essential skills that will enhance their vocabulary and comprehension. Children who reach reading proficiency by 3rd grade are more likely to succeed in school and beyond.
