Field Trips

A field trip to Wonderscope sparks a lifelong love of learning through the universal and uniting power of play.

EXPLORATION Field Trip

90 minutes to explore the exhibits! Wonderscope exhibits meet Kansas and Missouri state educational standards for early childhood and K-2. Available mornings and afternoons, Tuesday-Friday. Explorer field trips scheduled for September-May can accommodate up to 100 students per visit; those scheduled June-August can accommodate up to 50 students. Exploration Field Trip groups are limited to 1 adult chaperone for every 5 children. (Adult chaperones include teachers and paraprofessionals.)

PLAYTIME Field Trip

90 minutes of play for homeschool groups and organized play groups. Playtime Field Trips are limited to 50 individuals, including adults.

ADVENTURE Field Trip

60 minutes of structured programming led by Wonderscope program staff in character, followed by 30 minutes of play in the exhibits. Available Tuesday-Friday mornings during the academic year. Adventure Field Trip groups are limited to 1 adult chaperone for every 10 children. (Adult chaperones include teachers and paraprofessionals.)

Costs

50% of payment is due at time of reservation. The remainder is due upon arrival. Wonderscope memberships may not be used for admission with field trips.

Adventure Field Trip

Teachers and paraprofessionals are free. Chaperones are free with a 1:5 ratio for Exploration Field Trip or 1:10 ratio for Adventure Field Trip. (Chaperones must be age 18 or older.)

Playtime Field Trip
90 minutes of free play in exhibits

$8 per individual age 2 and up
Maximum 50 Guests per Reservation*
*Guests are any child age 2 and up and adults

Please note: Wonderscope memberships may NOT be used for admission with field trips.

Important Details

Reservations for the 2024-25 academic school year begin August 15th.
 
Field trips must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
 
Minimum 10 students per visit*
* If the number of students that arrives is below 10, you will still be charged for the minimum of 10 students. 
 
Explorer Field trips scheduled September-May can accommodate up to 100 students per visit. 
 
Explorer Field Trips scheduled June-August can accommodate up to 50 students per visit.
 
Adventure Field Trips are available September-May and can accommodate up to 50 students per visit. 
 
Wonderscope does not offer a space for field trip groups to have lunch or snacks.

Discount Field Trips

Title 1 schools in Cass, Clay, Jackson, and Platte counties in Missouri, and Johnson, Leavenworth, and Wyandotte counties in Kansas are eligible for discounted field trips through our 100% donor-supported Wonder Fund.
