Ni Hao Club to Showcase Traditional Lion Dance at Wonderscope Children’s Museum

KANSAS CITY, MO (February 17, 2026) – The Ni Hao Club from Rockhurst High School (RHS) will showcase a traditional Lion Dance at The Regnier Family Wonderscope Children’s Museum of Kansas City, located at 443 E. Red Bridge Road, in Kansas City, Missouri, on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This cultural event is suitable for families and offers a vibrant glimpse into Chinese traditions during the Lunar New Year.

Members of the RHS team will wear a traditional lion costume, bringing this iconic Chinese art form to life with lively drums and dynamic routines. The performance will immerse children in a colorful display of cultural heritage, highlighting the beauty and excitement of this Chinese tradition.

In addition to the Lion Dance, children in attendance will have the opportunity to try on masks and costumes provided by the RHS Club. Following the performance, Wonderscope’s program staff will guide families in a hands-on craft project, allowing them to take home a piece of their experience.

All activities are included with Wonderscope admission or membership. The press is invited to attend and capture the spirit of the festivities.

About the RHS Ni Hao Club:
The RHS Ni Hao Club is a language and culture club for all students interested in the Chinese language and culture.  Club members plan events such as language practice, homework tutoring, cooking workshops, and cultural experiences (watching Chinese movies and tasting Chinese food).  Additionally, club members may attend local Chinese cultural events, including participating in dragon or lion dancing.
