Exhibits & Maintenance Technician
Wonderscope Children’s Museum is seeking a dependable and skilled Exhibits & Maintenance Technician to support the safety, quality, and functionality of our exhibits and facility. This hands-on role performs exhibit repairs and modifications, conducts routine building and systems maintenance, assists with special event setup, and responds to daily and emergency facility needs.
The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, child-centered environment. Recommended experience in exhibit design, fabrication, or prototyping—including the use of materials, fasteners, hand tools, and creative problem-solving—is highly valued and will strengthen a candidate’s ability to enhance and improve interactive exhibit components.
Candidates should have at least two years of experience in mechanical or facilities maintenance, carpentry, or a related field, along with strong communication skills for interacting with vendors, contractors, and museum staff. The position requires standing, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with a weekly schedule of Monday 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and Tuesday–Friday 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. The annual salary range is $35,000–$40,000, with health insurance, dental insurance, and 401(k) participation included.
