Special Exhibits Wonderscope is excited that Hmong at Heart has joined our line-up of fun exhibits for kids and families through Mid-September! Discover Asian culture through a unique interactive, traveling exhibit Hmong at Heart! Children
can journey through the daily life of the Hmong people from a village in Laos and a refugee camp in Thailand to a
Hmong American home. In a re-creation of a Hmong village, they can dress up with colorful costumes and jewelry,
weave a basket, prepare a traditional Hmong meal with pretend vegetables from the garden, and use the interactive
video kiosk. Lively Hmong dancers and artists will also be featured plus much more! With a thriving Hmong culture
rich in tradition here in the Greater Kansas City area, this exhibit will give children and their families a taste
of the cultures within our community and our world. Go East- Hmong at Heart was created by Madison Children’s Museum and is part of the Freeman
Foundation Asian Initiative as administered by the Association of Children’s Museums. Local sponsors include the
Junior League of Wyandotte and Johnson Counties, Providence Medical Center and the Shawnee Dispatch.
